Announcement on the Implementation of Ministerial Decision ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΑΠΕΕΚ/104605/4389 (Government Gazette B’ 5342/17.10.2022) on Photovoltaic Stations

The competent Operators (HEDNO S.A. and IPTO S.A.), in accordance with Article 3 of Ministerial Decision ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΑΠΕΕΚ/104605/4389 (Government Gazette B’ 5342/17.10.2022), regarding the determination of the maximum total capacity limit of photovoltaic stations on agricultural land within which the installation of a photovoltaic station ≤ 1 MW on high-productivity agricultural land is permitted per Regional Unit, work together to collect all necessary data for monitoring compliance with this capacity limit. These data are made publicly available on their respective websites.

In this context, the attached Table displaying the remaining capacity limits for photovoltaic stations ≤ 1 MW on high-productivity agricultural land per Regional Unit is jointly published.

Additionally, interested parties should note that in Regional Units where the maximum total capacity for photovoltaic stations on agricultural land, which reserves electrical space in the System or Network, has been reached as per the above Ministerial Decision, the Operators will:

 

  • Cease processing new applications for the issuance of a Final Connection Offer for photovoltaic stations with an installed capacity ≤ 1 MW on high-productivity agricultural land in these areas.
  • Reject pending applications for the issuance of a Final Connection Offer for photovoltaic stations with an installed capacity ≤ 1 MW on high-productivity agricultural land in these areas, as well as applications where a Connection Failure Certificate has been issued and applicants have expressed interest in keeping their request pending for a Final Connection Offer.
  • In the case of joint exemption requests under Article 14 of Law 4951/2022, they will reject the part of the request concerning stations intended for installation on high-productivity agricultural land. Inform applicants that their request will only be considered for the remaining part of the application. Applications submitted to the System Operator by 31.10.2024, in accordance with Article 59 of Law 5151/2024 (Government Gazette A’ 173/04.11.2024), will only be considered if the total capacity of the request, including the remaining stations, exceeds 8 MW. Joint applications submitted to the System Operator after 31.10.2024, in accordance with Article 59 of Law 5151/2024 (Government Gazette A’ 173/04.11.2024), will only be considered if the total capacity of the request, including the remaining stations, exceeds 10 MW.
  • The Operators will continue to examine pending or new joint or individual applications related to these Regional Units, provided that the stations included in these applications are located on plots that are not classified as high-productivity agricultural land or are legally exempt from installation restrictions.

 All other provisions of Ministerial Decision ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΑΠΕΕΚ/104605/4389 (Government Gazette B’ 5342/17.10.2022) remain in effect.
