Voltage and frequency protection resetting at photovoltaic and wind stations of the Interconnected Network (L. 5106/2024, article 123)
As part of the application of article 123 of L. 5106/2024 (GG Α’ 63/01.05.2024), HEDNO has provided information to all producers and self-consumers, by email and over the phone, regarding the technical requirements and specification for the readjustment of protection settings (resetting) at PV and wind stations of the Interconnected Network in operation.
The initial update was provided on 15.5.2024 and as per the Law, producers and self-consumers are required to comply with the requirements of the Operator at the latest within three (3) months, namely until the 14.8.2024. This obligation requires on the one hand the modification of the protection settings at the Auto Connection Switch and the station’s generation units, and on the other hand the submission of documents and details on the online RES/CHP application platform, demonstrating the compliance of producers and self-consumers.
HEDNO would like to ask all producers and self-consumers to proceed with these actions as soon as possible and notes that this resetting is associated with alleviating the easing off protection settings and reducing the disconnection frequency of the production stations from the Grid.
At the same time, the benefits for the producers and the self-consumers are significant, given that fewer disconnections translate into more revenue and less stress for their equipment caused by disconnections and reconnections.
