New Dual-Zone Reduced Electricity Rates System from 01.02.2025
Following the respective Ministerial Decision on the new dual-zone reduced electricity rates system, HEDNO, which is in charge for the implementation of the decision, has undertaken to complete all necessary actions for launching the system on 1 February 2025.
More specifically, HEDNO has initiated all procedures required for the automatic transition of the new time schedule, without requiring any action on the part of consumers.
Approximately 150,000 consumers who are included in the reduced billing timetable (effective until 31/01/2025) are exempted from the above system, due to the specifications of their existing installed meters. Letters containing all relevant information are already being sent out together with the electricity bills. If there is no change request for the new dual-zone rates, they shall stay in the existing reduced rates.
For this category of approximately 150,000 consumers, the cost of changing from the previous to the new reduced rates will be zero.
