HEDNO donated material that will help with the implementation of preservation works for the improvement of the offices at the Holy Church of Agioi Anargyroi Psiri which are associated with the cell of Papadiamantis.

The Holy Church of Agioi Anargyroi, Psiri is a historical church which was built in the 12th century, with its present form being the last phase of the 1908 renovation. The yard surrounding the church is the site of the cell of author Alexandros Papadiamantis who stayed there when he lived in Athens for a decade. Papadiamantis composed many of his works inside this space, which is preserved and can accept visitors. Cultural bodies and organizations are carrying out events at the site of the Holy Church, both inside and outside. The Choir of PPC-HEDNO participated in the “Journey of Music in Old Athens” event which took place on 21.10.2016 for the celebration of music works composed during the years of Papadiamantis.

With its support to the Holy Church of Agioi Anargyroi Psiri, HEDNO is once again demonstrating that corporate activity can and should align with social and cultural responsibility.
