In the framework of activities-sponsorships related to Corporate Social Responsibility, HEDNO granted rescue equipment, aiming at supporting and facilitating the work of the Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT).

In particular, HEDNO, promptly responding to the HRT invitation, granted a thermal camera with a wide range of temperature – Flir E8XT, which has been used by the volunteers of the Team to locate survivors in areas of physical disasters, as well as for training purposes of the HRT Disaster Response Department.

The Hellenic Rescue Team is a certified volunteer non-government search and rescue organisation, with its headquarters in Thessaloniki. It has 31 branches all over Greece and approximately 2500 volunteers participating in search and rescue operations in response to emergencies and mass disasters in Greece and abroad, safeguarding the human life.

It is noted that HRT dispatched a mission to Turkey, helping in the rescue operations after the recent big earthquake at the beginning of February; for this purpose, it used rescue equipment, among which said thermal camera, which was used in all operations by the Team members, proving that it was one of their most important tools.
