Project Description

OneNet envisions a European Electricity System that operates as a single entity and allows for the seamless, real-time integration of each country's actors, creating, at the same time, the proper conditions to ensure the most sufficient and synergistic market-network cooperation, optimizing the overall energy management. A fully scalable, fair and open market is being established, enabling the universal participation of operators, irrespective of their physical location - at every level, from 'small' consumers to 'large' producers.

Involving an unprecedented number of countries in a single project, OneNet aims at creating the conditions for a new generation of grid services able to fully exploit demand response, storage and distributed generation while creating fair, transparent and open conditions for the consumer. As result, during the process of creating One Network for Europe, a customer centric approach to grid operation is developed. In order to verify that the project has been properly developed, the following four clusters are structured with the participation of the countries listed below.

  1. Northern Cluster (Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Lithuania).
  2. Southern Cluster (Greece and Cyprus).
  3. Western Cluster (Portugal, Spain and France).
  4. Eastern Cluster (Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia).
