Consumption subsidy due to smog
Special subsidy for residential electricity consumption in order to face
air pollution caused by smog
According to the Decision of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change no Δ5/ΗΛ/Β/Φ29/οικ.23823/23.12.2013, as well as the Joint Ministerial Decision no Δ5/ΗΛ/Β/Φ29/οικ. 238/3.1.2014 (Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Ministry of Finance), if an announcement is released relative to the application of short-term measures on the reduction of particulate matter emissions caused by heating sources and specifically, in case of recommendation released by the Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change for Attica Region or by the competent Head of Region for the rest of the country’s Regions referring to the non-use of fireplaces, heating devices of solid fuels as well as biomass heating devices, the following will be applied for residential consumers living in the area where the above mentioned measures are applied, for the four-month period within which the application of these measures was in force:
Α. Beneficiaries of Social Residential Tariff:
The energy consumption charge regarding the competitive part of the Social Residential Tariff is defined to zero for the double number of days during which the above measures were applied.
The four-month consumption limits, as defined for each category of beneficiaries, are expanded based on the formula below:

Δ.Ο.Τ.Κ.i : Expanded limits of four-month consumption period for each category of beneficiaries
Ο.Τ.Κ.i : Existing limits of four-month consumption period for each category of beneficiaries
A.H.E.M. : Number of days for measures application
The Suppliers are obliged to inform the Social Residential Tariff beneficiaries who are represented by them through the issuance of bills for the above mentioned elements.
Β. Other Residential Consumers:
For a number of days that is equal to the number of days during which the above measures were applied, the consumption energy charge concerning the competitive part of the electricity supply is defined to 30% of each electricity Supplier’s residential tariff. The category limits of four-month consumption period for competitive and regulated parts are defined by each electricity Supplier’s residential tariff up to the consumption limit of 2,000 kWh and they are expanded based on the formula below:
