The Annex attached to the letter provides examples of resetting, and when entering the configurations in the online RES application platform that operates for this purpose ( https://ape.deddie.gr/apewebportal-ws/ ), the user is prompted accordingly to ensure that the configurations entered are compatible with HEDNO’s requirements.

The original configurations are displayed within the station equipment, i.e. the main switch and inverters, and qualified personnel can retrieve them before they are changed. In particular, the old Inverter configurations,  if not changed when the inverters were installed in the field, may be included in the technical brochures.

The configurations to be implemented are not harmful to the equipment and are already in place in other production stations in Greece and in stations in other countries. Equipment installed in Greece over the last 10 years, with few exceptions, can operate within the voltage and frequency limits imposed, but also within even wider limits.

In few special cases where the equipment (inverters) cannot, according to the manufacturer's specifications, operate at extended (more flexible) frequency and voltage limits, the producer or the self-consumer is not obliged to reset, as long as they can demonstrate to HEDNO the technical incapacity for compliance. Incapacity is demonstrated by submitting the manufacturer's technical datasheets in the same way as compliance is demonstrated, i.e. by means of the online RES platform operated for this purpose (https://ape.deddie.gr/apewebportal-ws/).

The three-month period granted to station operators under article 123 of Law 5106/2024 is a sufficient period of time for compliance and allows them, in a visit that may be carried out, for example for station maintenance purposes, to reset, in parallel, their stations' protection configurations.

Please note that any costs incurred for resetting will be eventually recuperated, given that the station will remain connected to the grid for a longer period of time, so there will be no production-related loss.

In case of failure to submit within 3 months, the data demonstrating compliance with the requirement, the station may be deactivated at any time without notice to the producer or self-consumer.

HEDNO does not specify equipment. It specifies operational requirements. The producer is free to use the equipment they wish, provided that the protection specified during the operation of the station is achieved.
